Residential Care Home

Shoreham-by-Sea

Our Home

Situated in the heart of Shoreham-by-Sea, Meadowcroft Residential Care Home is a beautiful former Victorian villa that has been lovingly converted to provide 20 ensuite bedrooms for our residents. We have two large lounges, a separate dining room and beautiful gardens for our residents to access.

The homely atmosphere at Meadowcroft encourages a real sense of community within the home and all our rooms are personalised with the residents’ own furnishings and possessions where residents wish.

A homely atmosphere & a real sense of community

All floors are accessed by a lift or stairlifts, giving residents freedom of movement throughout our home. Our on-site catering team produce lovingly prepared home cooked food for our residents. Menu options change daily and we have special menus for our events.

Being located close to the town centre, there are shops, cafes, restaurants, and Shoreham Train Station all within a few minute’s walk. Shoreham Beach is a little further over the river and we are really lucky to be located in the heart of the local community.

“age should be no barrier to leading a full and active life” Vanessa Farmer Vanessa Farmer, Registered Manager

Vanessa is supported by a dedicated team of staff, including our care team, on site cooks and cleaners who all work together to deliver the highest levels of care for our residents. Our approach is one of collaboration to support each other, residents and families as we provide care, companionship and support to residents.

Our service is rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and we work closely with them to improve our service and for guidance and support in times of change. Our CQC report can be found here.

All aspects of our residents' past, present and future are considered as we create their personalised care package. This will be continuously reviewed and updated with the individual throughout their stay with us.

We provide truly person-centred care to each resident

All our staff are experienced within their roles and have training across Health and Social Care, Food Hygiene, as well as first aid and other relevant qualifications.

We feel it is vital to support residents with their existing strengths and ambitions whilst honouring their personal identity and individual nature. Through this, we can ensure a comfortable and content future for them at our home. Our staff get to know our residents, enabling us to perfect our care package and provide truly person-centred care to each resident.

Residents are encouraged to make new friendships, discover new hobbies, and try new activities - as well as cherishing their existing past times. We strive to empower our residents to live their life to the fullest, however they choose to live it. Person centred care is all about supporting their future by learning all about their past.

Activities and Wellbeing

Residents have access to a full suite of activities through our two dedicated activities coordinators, whether it is guest speakers, musical afternoons, film shows, pet visits, arts and crafts, or visits from the local nursery and primary school. Residents are sure to feel engaged and sustain both physical and mental health.

Activities are tailored to the individual and our staff will strive to meet the wishes of our residents whether its fish and chips from the local chippy to watching sport with a fellow enthusiast!

We also love to celebrate key events and milestones with our residents whether it’s our Christmas party, Easter get-togethers or celebrating birthdays with delicious cake, there are plenty of opportunities for celebrations at Meadowcroft
